Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K is a professional hardware decoding solution designed to receive high‑quality H.264 and H.265 live streams and convert them back into pristine SDI and HDMI video for broadcast, monitoring or integration into live production systems. Built for modern IP‑based workflows, it seamlessly receives streams from Blackmagic Streaming Encoders, ATEM switchers and Blackmagic cameras and outputs them as clean, low‑latency SDI or HDMI signals ready for immediate use in any production pipeline. With support for Ultra HD at frame rates up to 2160p60, it ensures sharp, detailed images that match the quality of high‑end broadcast environments.
The decoder features a 12G SDI reference input for professional synchronization, allowing tight integration into multi‑camera or multi‑device setups. It also supports tally, talkback and camera control signals when paired with compatible Blackmagic encoders and cameras, enabling a complete bidirectional production workflow. The built‑in format conversion engine ensures that incoming streams are automatically converted to match the connected display or SDI output standard, simplifying setup and reducing the need for external converters.
The device includes both SDI and HDMI outputs, each capable of delivering high‑quality video with embedded audio. Sixteen channels of SDI audio and eight channels of HDMI audio ensure that complex multichannel soundtracks remain fully intact.
